Street Level Photoworks is currently exhibiting photographic and graphic poster designs which document life and events in Glasgow in the 1980’s and early 1990’s. The show provided a fantastic insight into various aspects of the city’s rich cultural and political heritage.
Heading back to the southside, The Tramway was the next stop to see Pilgrim Fields, a large-scale installation by Solange Pessoa. The Hidden Gardens provided pupils with a rich, colourful context for exploring through photography, natural forms and architectural structures.
As a school, we are fortunate to have such easy access to contemporary art in the southside of Glasgow. Seeing the work of important artists and photographers enriches our creative curriculum and gives pupils the opportunities to develop their awareness of how artists often present new ways of looking at the world around them.
