Charity Cycle Champions

Senior pupils Saad (S5) and Mus’ab (S6) raised over £2,000 for Palestinian Mobile clinics by taking part in the 100 Miles Pedal for Scotland, cycling from Glasgow Green to Edinburgh.

After deciding to take on the challenge independently, the pair took on a variety of rigorous training sessions before the event in September.

During the summer holidays, they practised 40 and 60 mile routes from Newton Mearns to Whitelee Wind Farm and Stewarton.

As well as this, they took a trip on a ferry and completed one whole loop around the Isle of Arran, taking in many hills on their practice run.

On the fantastic fundraising result, Saad said: “It was quite the adventure, from the many training sessions to the main challenge.

“Completing this was a great milestone in our lives and was a combination of hard work, dreams and dedication was the driving force to keep us going.

“As we crossed the finish line, despite being shattered, our minds were alive and filled with joy imagining the grins on those we were helping.”

Very well done boys!
