It was a packed and very enjoyable day starting with a general introduction to Greek mythology and then a story-telling and discussion session focused on either the tale of Theseus and the Minotaur, Perseus and the Gorgon or the tragic love story of Orpheus and Eurydice.
Armed with knowledge of their myth, the P7s then made props essential for performing their story. The masks for Cerberus, the Minotaur and the gorgons were particularly monstrous!
They enjoyed taking part in a picnic Greek lunch, bringing along sharing breads, olives, grapes, hummus and even goblets for juice.
In the afternoon, they rehearsed short original scripts written by Mr Morton and performed for the year group and teachers. Some superb acting, complete with comedic costuming and timing rounded off a fantastic day.
