Primary Mathsathon

Near the end of the year, once the P1 children had had time to learn lots about numbers, the whole of the primary school had two weeks to learn their year-group’s 50 maths facts.

These included facts like 360 degrees in a circle, names of triangles and how many cm are in a metre.

The children also asked their parents, grandparents and neighbours to sponsor them.

On the same day at the end of May, everyone sat their Mathsathon test and the scores were remarkable. The children had clearly worked very hard to remember each of the 50 facts.

During the next week, one of the P6 maths sets was kept very busy collecting the sponsor money and creating a graph for the wall.

All in all, the children brought in an amazing £7450 for the school’s chosen charity, Calum’s Cabin.
